About Me
I started hand embroidering gifts for friends and family.
Honestly, they were pretty bad, but they help me practice and practice and eventually get better with the craft.
Throughout this exploration process, I fell in love with the possibilities of the thread and the needle and started to create more elaborated designs, mixing with acrylic or watercolor painting, beading, appliqués or felt patches from time to time.
Currently I do commission works and teach workshops around my community

Yes, it was suuuuuuuper horrible hot, crowded and chaotic to get in and out of the Sun Bowl.
But honestly, I would gladly do it all over again🥰🤟🏽
I met people riding the streetcar, during the line, and at the stadium. They were from everywhere: North Carolina, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico City, ciudad del Carmen Campeche, Midland, Colombia, Austin, from everywhere!!! It was simply beautiful🙌
So here’s a bit of the very sweaty and immense joy that @dice_druid and I got to experience that day!
Big shoutout to @geekobsession for helping us with our booth at @animeelpaso so that we could make it in time to the concert!!!🙌

Patiently waiting to sing my heart out with @coldplay 🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘
Main reasons for migration:
- Work
- Education
- Safety
- Family Reunification
The path to get here is very different for each migrant, and the process it’s waaaaay more complex than just classifying it as “right” or “wrong”.
But the pain of getting somewhere new, where some will see you just as a foreigner and won’t embrace you, that is a shared one.
And this should keep us empathetic and kinder towards our migrant families, not the opposite.

Today we had our first Guest Teaching Artist Workshop at the CushiCushi915 Studio with @pinsandneedlesep who not only thought us how to bead weave, but also shared her story and how urgent and meaningful is that all of us reclaim and preserve our own history and traditions.

Here’s the thing about hand embroidery: it’s such a vast and beautiful universe!! And I promise you I’m not just saying it because it’s what I do.
I say it because when I look at the textures, the colors, the shapes, the shimmering, the contrast, the highlights, the juxtaposition of materials, etc., all of it is just like a big sensorial craving that you didn’t even know existed inside of you!
Or, maybe I’m just weird. And touchy!👐👀
