About Me
I started hand embroidering gifts for friends and family.
Honestly, they were pretty bad, but they help me practice and practice and eventually get better with the craft.
Throughout this exploration process, I fell in love with the possibilities of the thread and the needle and started to create more elaborated designs, mixing with acrylic or watercolor painting, beading, appliqués or felt patches from time to time.
Currently I do commission works and teach workshops around my community

Here’s the thing about hand embroidery: it’s such a vast and beautiful universe!! And I promise you I’m not just saying it because it’s what I do.
I say it because when I look at the textures, the colors, the shapes, the shimmering, the contrast, the highlights, the juxtaposition of materials, etc., all of it is just like a big sensorial craving that you didn’t even know existed inside of you!
Or, maybe I’m just weird. And touchy!👐👀

Anyways. Always amazed to keep learning and playing with different materials!🙌

Registration for classes at the CushiCushi 915 Studio for the month of May are now up on my website!🙌
To comfortably accommodate everyone, the capacity of my classes will be up to 8 students.
Please remember that you need to register ONLINE to secure your spot (unless you have reached out to me prior to the event, and discussed a payment arrangement).
Prices for classes are per person & per session, BUUUUT!!! If 1 session is not enough for you, ask me about my monthly membership!
This plan will allow you to come to as many classes as you want (some restrictions apply).

Thank you so so so so much from the bottom of my heart to everyone that showed these past days and showed up to support my CushiCushi Studio.
It’s been a super exhausting week (and it’s not even over yet!) but, I feel so overjoyed that I’m finally able to host you in a cute and cozy space where really really you can forget about whatever is going on in the world and just be, recharge and feed that creative energy that each and every one of us has.

I started doing hand embroidery in late 2018 and early 2019.
But, like many of us, it was during the pandemic in 2020 when I really got into it.
Like many families, we were pretty isolated at home because my son is high risk.
So I started scrolling, and reading, and signing up for online classes, taking webinars, and then reading some more, and practicing, practicing, practicing, practicing, practicing, practicing, practicing…
In the end, more than a making money stream, hand embroidery became my sanity.
My piece of heaven in a very (VERY!) uncertain and chaotic world.
And still is (my sanity, and a VERY uncertain world).
So yes, I do it for them, but mostly for me.
To be able to be for them.
No one can give what they do not have.

Went to my local EP @joann_stores closing sale and here’s what I got:

- 1 package of Czech seed beads
- 6 yards of Calico Keepsake Cotton Fabric
- 20 yards of Kona Cotton Fabric
- 1 roll of Sulky water soluble stabilizer
Total: $298 buckaroos!!🫣
They’re already out of any DMC mouline thread but there’s still some pearl cotton available.
I also went to Las Cruces last week and same story: nada!l dr DMC!
